PHNOM PENH, May 2, 2024 — Mao Chamnan has been elected President of the Khmer Artists Association for the sixth mandate, securing 527 out of more than 600 votes cast in the recent election.

The election, held under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, featured three candidates including Mao Chamnan, who is also recognized for her philanthropic contributions to the arts. Other candidates were Kouch Kevin, and Phat Dararath, but Mao Chamnan emerged as the favorite.

Following her election, Chamnan outlined her vision for the association, emphasizing collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts and other related institutions.
